Girlfriends new puppy attacks their German Shepard Puppy is a mutt: Mix of a Chihuahua, Pomeranian, and Yorkie. Both dogs are very well behaved and trained very well. This is still one of their games. The GS taunts her to get whatever toy it has. This is the Original, all others are stolen.

Well as a trainer you should know the German Shepherd is submissive the entire time. In fact it’s trying to teach the puppy how to play fight. As for your “beyond play” moments the shepherd is simply play biting or test biting and it learned its limitations explaining the slight pause during play, afterwards they resumed play. These dogs are well trained in the area of knowing their limitation meaning they are family pets, with a family that taught them through physical play, like tug of war.
